LEARN MORE…
The development of the Relais 22 millestraces back to more than 60 years ago, when loggers used it as a base camp. Its name refers to the distance loggers had to travel on horseback to the camp from the Windigo train station; that is 22 miles or a bit more than 35 kilometres using today’s unit of measurement!
The Relais 22 millesserves as a travel hub, connecting the regions of the Outaouais, the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and the Haute-Mauricie. During winter, the service lodge is the only refuelling station between Saguenay and La Tuque for snowmobilers who use the Trans-Québec 83 trail. On that note, we are immensely grateful to Mr. Guy Tremblay and his crew who, in the late 1980s, invested time and effort into the development of the Perce-Neige trails in the region.
